A Dog's Life

Every even-numbered year in January, the national ski patrol brings their avalanche dogs to the Alta Peruvian Lodge for training.  It has been fun to have these friendly canines hanging out in the facility, training, greeting guests, wagging tails.  If we ask their handlers, they usually let us give some love.  The next visit will be 2028.

But then today they did their helicopter training, WOW!  I did verify later that indeed they were getting rides in the big bird.

Turns out the run down was nowhere near as good as last weekend.  Clipped lots of rocks.  No more for me until we get more snow.

Forty years ago would have found me in Albuquerque on a Friday night.  At a bar or a party, with friends, maybe taking in a show, up late, maybe catching a flight.  Now I do different things to have fun.
